It does not matter how old a person is or what they do on a daily basis; at some point they are going to feel tired and even sleepy. 2. People who work irregular hours. Not everybody has the luxury of working during regular business hours; for those that must make the commute during late hours of the night or early hours of the morning, fatigue is very possible.

3. People that have to drive through less populated areas. The less stimulation there is, the less likely it is that a driver will be able to concentrate to stay aware.

1. The most important step for avoiding driver sleepiness is getting plenty of rest before getting into the car. Fragmented and sporadic sleep does not do anybody any good, and should be avoided.

2. The driver should also take breaks. Sitting in one spot for too long can bring about repetition, thus making the task boring. You can step outside of the car and walk around a bit, allowing the environment to stimulate your senses. Go inside of a store and see what products they have to offer, but without the feeling that you have to buy something. If somebody has come along with you, hold a conversation and talk about whatever subject you like. If you are making a long trip, this should become a habit. If you are not confident about driving, ask somebody to take over.
